My first English writing in USA

I still remember my first day of study at college. My first class started on Tuesday. I woke up at 5:45 A.M. to make sure I could cook something to eat, so I would not feel hungry in the class. I went to the kitchen and cooked oatmeal,my healthy breakfast that has become obligatory for me for 3 years. I showered and after that I prepared some of my books. Then, I ate the oatmeal that I made, and rushed to take a bus at 6:58 A.M. It seemed like I wore wrong clothes. The weather was quite cold and windy for me, and I was only wearing shorts and a T-shirt. “ I thought that it was not a good beginning for me. LOL

The bus arrived promptly at 7 A.M. That bus was late by 2 minutes. But it did not matter for me, because I had class at 8 A.M., and it just took 20 minutes to arrive there. I took time to buy some of the required text books at the book store by using third-party billing after I had arrived. Then, I entered the classroom and the instructor started the first lesson. My instructor was Donna. Actually, I did not speak English in my country, so I was happy because Donna spoke clearly.

Suddenly, the fire alarm rang within the first few minutes That was a sign to leave the building. I was quite surprised because I never got this experience before. I just followed other people to go out. After several minutes of waiting, finally we were allowed into the room and started our class again. Well, I was just afraid at that time. I still wanted to go home to Indonesia. Ha ha.
Donna started the class by explaining the syllabus and inviting us to introduce each other. Then, Donna gave us homework to write about our writing experience. It was quite difficult for me to write my writing history, because in my country, I rarely wrote any stories in English. But, I had to do that homeworks to improve my writing skills, and it was the best time.
After I came home from campus, I started thinking about what I had to write. I had some ideas, but I was not sure that it was an interesting writing experience. I layed on my small cozy bed and looked at my laptop. I still did not find good idea. Finally, I slept for 1.5 hours because I was too tired to think. I wake up  at 4.30 P.M., and I had to go to downtown campus to buy a flash drive in the bookstore.
I came home again at 7 P.M. and immediately made my dinner. I cooked sweet-sour eggs with mashed potato. It was quite delicious, though it was not my favorite food. After I ate and cleaned the dishes, I opened my laptop to think about my writing history assignment. I still did not find any inspiration. Finally, I spent my time chatting with my friends all night long.

Wednesday morning I woke up at 9 A.M. I just ate one muffin and a glass of orange juice. Then, i read the sample of writing history from Donna. At first, i got an idea to tell about my writing on my personal blog. I started to type it. When I  finished about 60% of my writing, I reviewed my writing and was not satisfied with the result. It told more about my life experience rather than my writing experience.

I was instantly afraid that I could not finish my homework on time. However, I still motivated myself to keep thinking. Finally, I decided to write about my “ Introduction to College Writing “ assignment’s experience, and told about my efforts to complete the writing history.

I had completed my writing at noon around 1 P.M. However, I still had to translate my writing in English, because I wrote it in Indonesian language, and my homework should be in English. Hopefully I can translate it as well as possible and minimize the grammatical errors that exist, so I can get a good score for writing in Donna’s class.
But I am most glad that I have finished my writing in this week. No procrastinating!
